Quality Price Value
The setup is fairly straightforward and made easy if you scan the QR Code on the camera. Obviously, you want to test this out and make all your setting changes while in the house. Once you've connected to it via an ethernet cable, you can set it up to connect to your wireless network. If your wireless signal where the camera will be mounted is marginal, you may not have a great experience. Response to your commands to pan/tilt/zoom may be erratic and the video may be choppy. I upgraded my wireless system a month ago and it made a big difference in the user experience. This isn't the fault of the camera - transmitting a video stream takes a bit of bandwidth and dealing with the outside environment will affect the signal. Also, because of where I installed both cameras, the antenna is back against a solid 6" wood beam. There is no clear line of sight. Where you mount the camera and the quality of your wireless network will affect how well the camera works for you. You will have these potential issues regardless of the camera brand you choose.
Concerning customer support, I've been very happy, so far. Is their communication in English perfect - no. However, it's 1000 times better than my Chinese would be. I haven't had any issues in communicating with them and their responses have been very quick, especially considering the 13-hour time difference. I recently made a request that they change the way a certain screen on their iOS app was working, and in less than a week, my request was implemented and available on the app store. Also, I had an issue with the video on my 2nd camera and I sent an email requesting a replacement. I had a new camera delivered within 4 days and that included the weekend. That's pretty good service, in my opinion.
Overall, I think this is a great outdoor camera and I would highly recommend it. (Posted on 9/14/17)
